Basic features and overview

Written by Marcelo Scatolin Queiroz

To run any autonomous operation, you first create a job in Bonsai Pilot (the Bonsai web app). Everything starts with signing in.

  1. Open Bonsai Pilot in your browser: https://app.bonsairobotics.ai

  2. Log in with your credentials.

If you forgot your password, use the links to recover it. You can also use our assistant on the bottom right to request that a a lot more. Give it a try.

INFO

Don't have an account, or need to add a teammate? An administrator can invite additional users to your farm. See Adding a user and setting roles.

Navigating the App

Bonsai Pilot is organized into three main areas, reached from the left-hand sidebar: Home, Jobs, and Fleet. Expanding the sidebar get you more details on those and other supporting features. This article will guide your through the basic functionality of the main ones.

Home

This is the first screen you see when you open Bonsai Pilot. The Farm selected defaults to the last farm you visualized, but you can pick any. All the following data will be related to the selected farm (or "All Farms" if that's the case).

The Home page has multiple controls to help you understand the current state of your operations, but for now, you should get familiarized with the main ones:

  1. Farm switcher — switch between Farms (a group of Fields) using the dropdown in the top-left corner. Select a farm and the map will fly there.

  2. Stats panel — show or hide specific types of data. The default is live data, but you can pick quick time intervals for average numbers (Day, Week, Month). Click "MORE STATS" to get more detailed information on that timeframe.

  3. Vehicle & job panel — expand it using the arrows on the left to see your fleet and current operations.

  4. Map control — fine tune how machines and jobs show on the map. Zoom in to get more detailed info.

Jobs

Jobs are any operation your fleet perform on a frequent basis: spraying, mowing, discing, etc. On this section you will find every job — current, past, and scheduled.

Use the filters at the top to narrow the list.

To start building a new job, click "+ Add Job" and follow the workflow. For details, see Creating a Job.

Once you have a list of Jobs you can use the "Copy/Paste" button () to duplicate recurrent ones and the "Edit" button () to change any parameter.

Fleet

Every machine with a Bonsai Intelligence or Visionsteer kits will show here. Similarly to the Jobs screen, use the filters to find specific machines. Use the Edit button to change details, like which Farm it belongs to or supervisor roles.

Click a specific machine to open its detail page, where you will find the vehicle status, implements, jobs associated, and even teleoperate it using the "Controller" button ().

Next Steps

Now that you know the basics, you can build your first Teleoperate your Machine, Build and Follow a Commute Route, Create a Job, and generate field reports foryoud farm.

This seems a lot, but Bonsai Pilot is a complete platform to manage your farming operations, and we are daily working to make it better and more intuitive. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact us through any of our Support Channels.
